1. What did you like most about the book?

  • The title and subtitle are appropriate and thought provoking.
  • I loved the poem and your explanation of the term "angel" in the preface also.
  • The Intent Statement "We should resolve disputes while we can and as soon as we can is so true.
  • The angel quote "Touch with your eyes; smell with your mouth. Look with your ears; taste with your nose. Listen with your hands. Stretch your senses into the unknown." is an interesting concept.
  • What I liked best were the angel quotes and the Wisdom Gems. They are very deep and profound.
  • I liked it all.
  • Don't eliminate anything. Keep the whole thing.
  • I liked the Red Book Addendum at the back of the book best. It deals with something people don't want or like to think about until they need help. The addendum gives them the specific pointers they'll need when the time comes. And that time comes to everyone. Having this list frees people up and they can begin to heal.
  • I appreciated most the section on your husband's illness and death, and how you dealt with that. Also helpful was the information about your illness and how you came to grips with it.
  • I got the most from reading about your struggles following the loss of your husband. Your resolution and perseverance to continue the development of your faith was truly moving for me. I also love your website - a beautiful exhibit of your journey into Hawaiian spirituality.
  • You'll laugh, but I liked the parts with me in them the best. I especially liked the Belchertown Cemetery experience. I could identify with it and recognize how beautiful your writing is-sacred and beautiful!

Questions and Answers for the Kupuna Angels and Family Spirits

Some of these questions I asked the kupuna angels myself. Some others asked, and the angels chose to answer.

My Questions for the Kupuna Angels:

Why do some people see the spirits of loved ones and some don't?"

"We recognize when someone new opens to us. The opening is a shining beacon of welcome. And yes, sometimes we become overenthusiastic in our joy over the acceptance, but we learn from you, too, and try to curb our enthusiasm to give humans time to adjust to the process.

Why doesn't' everyone receive messages from the angels?

"Everyone could. All anyone needs to do is recognize it can happen, open to the process, and accept the experience."

Why do others fight the process?

"People fear what they do not know. They prefer to hide from the unknown rather than do the work of opening o the understanding. Some do not recognize the gift, and some recognize and choose not to accept."

Why do children and animals see spirits?

"Animals have simple souls and therefore accepting of whatever they see or hear. Children have souls that are yet untainted by the viewpoints of others. Therefore they live by not what should be but by what is." We are, and therefore, they accept."

Is it true that animals fear ghosts, barking at and cowering from them?

"That assumption is primarily a myth. However, animals do recognize wickedness and automatically try to protect loved ones."

Angel answers to questions asked by others

Why are these spirits known as kupuna, angels?

"We are all angels. YOU are an angel, a living angel.' For both Angel Books, it is easier to refer to the kupuna by the simpler term of 'angel' than to try to explain the term kupuna in any way other than the one you can find in the book.

What is an angel?

"In essence, Angel form is simply another form of life, another part of life as death is but another form and part of life.

What is their purpose?

"We are simple emissaries of the Creator. We guide, support, comfort, teach, care for, and love and love and love.

Questions for the author:

You have such close ties to the angels now, I wonder if all your questions have been answered?"

No! Not even close. And they never will be. We aren't meant to know all the answers. Otherwise there wouldn't be any mystery.

Do the messages come through the computer?

The thoughts come into my head, and at first they wanted me to take them down by hand. Later they allowed me to enter them directly on the computer.

Are the angels in your head all the time?

No. That would drive me nuts. When I was very new to the process, they gave me too much at once. Also, f I got too 'puffed up' they'd take the gift away. The angels can leave me, but I can't leave the angels.

Is the messaging a burden?

No, it's a gift, but they are a huge responsibility. Sometimes I get messages from spirits who want me to pass them on to others. I must be very careful about that.

About Religion:

If you believe in angels, do you also believe in Satan?

I don’t think we are rewarded or “earn” our way into the next dimension. Rather I believe we are what we make of ourselves on earth and we are the same as angels after life, only wiser, kinder, and more positive. Where there is Light, there is also darkness; where there is good there is evil, but I don’t believe in Satan. Rather I think that we create and are responsible for our own evil doings.

Do you believe in heaven and hell?

I believe that life is a balancing act between positive and negative energies. Where good exists, so does wickedness. Do I believe in heaven? Yes, but as an alternate universe where the spirit dwells. Do I believe in hell? Yes, but as one of our own making.

Is there one sure-fire way to guarantee a place in heaven?

I don't think we are rewarded or "earn" our way into the next dimension Rather I believe we are what we make of ourselves on earth and we are the same after life, only wiser, kinder, and more positive.

There are no guarantees in life, but I believe that love is the answer. Give love freely and accept love whenever and wherever it is offered. Live love. Love is the key to life and the life hereafter. This is my truth.

I chose to use the term "dimension." I think that when we pass on, it isn't to some faraway paradise but simply to another dimension which inhabits the same space as ours.

General Questions

Do you believe in life beyond this planetary system?

My feeling is that to believe there is no life beyond this small, blue planet and mankind would be both presumptuous and egotistical. One who believes we are alone in the universes sees through a narrow window and feeds from a very small spoon.

In the book you said that because of your illness, you haven't been back to Maui since 2005. Will you ever go back again?

I, too, wondered if I would ever be able to return to Maui since heat, sun, fatigue, and chaos are four of my vestibular triggers. I visit in my dreams but that isn't good enough; to never visit again is simply out of the question. I have plans to go back in 2010, accompanied by my daughter whose company will do much to alleviate the stress of solo travel. I very much look forward to returning to my second home.
